Minimizing Interruptions

We greatly value our students’ instructional time. In an effort to keep classroom interruptions to a minimum we are asking for your cooperation when dropping off items to students.

• If you told your student that you would be delivering an item to school, it is the student’s responsibility to check the office to see if the item has arrived.

• Also, when a student calls home from the office for items they have forgotten it is the student’s responsibility to check back in the office to retrieve his/her belongings.

There is a box at the end of the office counter for each grade and parents/guardians are directed to put the items in the appropriate box. We will not call into the classroom to inform or remind the student that the item has arrived.

Also, we do not take messages or reminders for students. If there is a change in normal transportation after the student has arrived at school, we will get a message to the student. However, we cannot interrupt class time to give reminders to students. Please use the student agenda to write reminders about afternoon activities or changes in their normal routine.

These procedures will reduce the interruptions to classroom instruction.

We thank you in advance for your help and understanding with these procedures.
